YOGA

Meet Hayley Saunders - Yogi

Local Central Coastian, Hayley is a yoga teacher with everyday realism as her mission. She is passionate and insightful about anything to do with helping heal both human and non-humankind alike.

You'll find her inspirations come from nature, quantum biology, Ahimsa (to do no harm), the ocean, surfing and the creation of art and alchemy.

Hayley brings a unique element of mixing the sweet parts of yoga together (both strength and stretching) based on thousands of years of traditional Hatha, intertwining, intuitive & functional movement, soul and breath work and philosophy into a juicy practice of yoga, remembering it's not just about the asana (pose) but the response to the asana.

With inspiration from travelling, life experiences and over 12 years of teaching yoga, meditation, breath work and dance, she will help facilitate a re-membering of who you really are in a supportive space, feeling deeply into what you need, more connected to your body and life itself.

Hayley runs her Yoga/PT/Coaching service out of the beautiful Pearl Beach village on the Central Coast just 1 hour north of Sydney. She is also an exercise specialist providing online, personal training/yoga sessions 1:1 and group bookings and facilitating space at events.

Hayley always aspires to find the will to learn and grow, recognising it starts with self through challenges of adversity, habits and healing. One must look within to be able to grow with others.

Completely vegan for nearly 10 years, Hayley's daughter Miyah and her have 3 rescue chickens, 2 gifted bunny rabbits and plentiful wildlife in their backyard of the national park. They hope one day to create a retreat rescue sanctuary on fertile land to collaboratively return to harmony to earth. ❤️

Feel free to join class as we join Alive Fest for the first time, where everyone is welcome to join the yoga class, move, breath and have fun as we connect with an all-inclusive practice, to start the day off sharing the space with love 🌱

Namaste!

LIVE MUSIC & SPEAKERS

Meet HYLIF -

HYLIF (pronounced "Highlife") is the brain-child of Gurungai resident Rhodri Davies.  With one full length album and one four-track EP under his belt all written and recorded at home with rickety old guitars and vintage synthesisers - his flavour of satirical synth rock has been coercing audiences to move their feet and shake their mullets up and down the Eastern seaboard.

After a dalliance with a vegan diet in his teens, Rhodri reconnected with his ethical nature later in life following exposure to a few animal welfare documentaries and a short stint in hospital to remove his appendix several years ago.  Rhodri has remained proudly plant-based ever since and has eaten at every vegan / vegetarian eatery from Sydney to Newcastle and beyond!

Hylif’s songs address the mundane and the meteoric in equal measure - his retro melodies, idiosyncratic turn of phrase and his sideways glance at everyday provincial life give the music a comforting sense of familiarity and relatability.

The live show, sometimes ramshackle, is always entertaining - ANYTHING could happen!

Meet Jemima -

Jemima is a vegan singer-songwriter from Blacksmiths. Her music – featuring elements of folk, pop, and rock alongside poetic hard-hitting lyrics – has struck a chord with listeners, with her EP Things I Never Said debuting at #1 on iTunes Australia’s singer-songwriter charts. Jemima worked on the record at an animal sanctuary near Byron Bay, where she lived as a volunteer to care for cows, pigs, sheep, goats, and chickens. She now fosters other non-human animals and advocates for veganism whenever possible.

“Going vegan is easily the best decision I’ve ever made,” she says. “Every day I’m grateful that I can live in a way that reduces suffering and helps protect animals and the planet. As so many vegans say, my only regret is not doing it sooner.”

Meet Tamika Tuckley - Wolf in the Woman - Path of the Sacred Feminine

I look at myself as someone who is just providing the tools of knowledge and wisdom. To allow Women to stand in their power and truth and to have confidence and courage within themselves.

I am someone who truly looks to the Earth for guidance, for wisdom and teachings. This is our teaching place. Where we can gather all the medicine and food that we need.

Over the last few years, I have made powerful connections with women who have helped shape this path for me. This path of the sacred feminine. Wolf In The Woman is a company that shares menstrual knowledge, awareness and aims to clear away the shame and taboo around our blood. I aim to continue to empower women to stand strong with their blood, bringing awareness to the fact that our bodies are our teachers. Our blood can be a determining factor in our health. Our cycle, if in alignment, can offer great insights into what we need in that moment, that week or that stage.

Women will be more likely to put their armour down when their hands are busy. To that end, I facilitate Women’s gatherings, where we craft. When we are partly occupied, it summons the confidence to fully express and I speak about the wisdom of the cycles, where we are in alignment with the Moon and at what stage this represents. It allows a Woman to enter the space knowing very little, then leaving leave with wisdom and power of her body, her bleed and self-confidence to stand in her power.

“Lack of menstrual education can lead to low self-esteem, low self-esteem can lead to risky sexual decision making, and furthermore can lead to self-harm and other challenges.”

Jane Hardwicke Collings

Tamika Tuckley is also running her stall ‘Wolf in the Woman’ at Alive Fest and she and her partner are available to discuss her work anytime during the day. She is presently working in the consent education space in the NSW school system and designing a Rites of Passage program for teens.

I made the switch instantly and haven’t looked back! It’s been the easiest and most rewarding lifestyle choice as an animal lover and environmentalist. too.“
